As Evergreen Park library board president, attorney, community volunteer, neighbor and mother, Kelly is a leader with integrity who delivers real results for her community.

Kelly recognizes that the tough problems the state and the residents of the 36th District are facing demand the attention of a full-time legislator. Kelly will steer us in the right direction and conduct herself with integrity and independence.

Kelly will encourage businesses to create well-paying jobs in our area, fight for property and income tax reforms that help middle-class families, work to end pay-to-play politics in Illinois, and demand fiscal responsibility from our state agencies.

As Evergreen Park Public Library president, Kelly recognized the growing needs of our community and spearheaded the effort to renovate and expand the Evergreen Park Public Library and increase the program options for adults and children.

Kelly and her husband, Terry, are long-time members of Most Holy Redeemer parish. Kelly and Terry are active school and parish volunteers. Terry served as the president of the School Advisory Board and girls’ and boys’ basketball coach. Kelly has been a Girl Scout leader, Women’s Guild officer, volleyball coach, room parent, and math team coach.

Kelly also founded and moderates a popular Mock Trial program for 8th grade students, now in its sixth year. Kelly has assisted several other area schools in starting their own programs and has taught the class at the Evergreen Park Public Library.

As an attorney since 1992, Kelly’s experience includes work as a legislative aide in the General Assembly, a legal aid agency intern, a judicial clerkship, and litigation experience in the insurance defense and family law areas. Since 2006 Kelly has been on staff at Saint Xavier University, where she helps obtain funding for various university projects.

As a mother of three, Kelly understands the concerns of parents for their families, especially in these difficult times. Kelly promises to be an effective and accessible representative for our district.

The 36th District includes all of Evergreen Park and Hometown, much of Oak Lawn, Chicago Ridge, and Hickory Hills, a bit of Palos Hills, and parts of Chicago’s 18th, 19th and 21st Wards.
